Our Story

Clearwater Oyster Gardens of Texas is a family business owned and operated by Bill and Amelia Strieber. Bill and Amelia first met on the beach in Port Aransas as high schoolers, bonding over their shared love of the Texas coast. Over the years, their family has spent countless days surfing, swimming, and fishing. Their deep appreciation for the coast's beauty and bounty inspired them to create a sustainable way to give back to the environment they hold dear. Clearwater Oysters is the culmination of that vision. As the ninth permitted oyster farm in Texas and the first to operate out of Port Aransas, it is located on a 2-acre site in the southern part of Aransas Bay. Clearwater Oyster Gardens was thoughtfully established to take advantage of optimal conditions while protecting the environment. The site offers ideal salinity levels and water temperatures, creating the perfect environment for their oysters to thrive. With one million oysters currently under cultivation, their operation embodies sustainable aquaculture practices that benefit both the ecosystem and the local community. The family’s passion for the ocean and seafood shines through in their signature oysters, Clearwater Selects and Clearwater Petites. Bill and Amelia are joined in the business by their daughter, Hannah, who manages Clearwater Oysters’ social media presence, and their son, Will, an emerging chef with a passion for showcasing the culinary potential of oysters. Together with their team of dedicated oyster farmers, the Strieber family works passionately to produce exceptional oysters that reflect their love of the ocean and its treasures.
